Improving Our Self-Esteem

Becoming mentally healthy is easier said than done for most people. It takes a lot of time and dedication to self-care, time people don’t seem to have.

Here I will share some tips that aren’t time consuming and doable for everyone.

Like many, I sometimes struggle with my self-confidence and esteem especially when my acne breaks out. It leaves me not wanting to date, exercise, and even leave the house.

This brings me to the first tip, be kind to yourself. We are often our biggest critics and are harder on ourselves than we need to be. Don’t listen to the little voice in your head that is mean because it’s not true. A good rule of thumb according to Reachout.com is to speak to yourself in the same way that you’d talk to your friends. Check out their link here for “talking yourself up” tips.

Much in line with the first tip, the second tip is to remember that no-one is perfect and striving for perfection is unrealistic. Instead, focus on being the best you can be instead of trying to be perfect because it can create unhealthy habits and lower self-esteem.

The third tip is to remember that mistakes are normal and understand that everyone makes them. When you feel overwhelmed by trying to be perfect or realising you made a mistake, take a deep breathe and remember that everything is okay and that shit happens. Because at the end of the day the decision was made, and you can’t go back in time.

Which brings me to the fourth tip, focus on what you can change and see what you can do about them. For example, when I’m having a hard time realising my self-worth, I look at things I can do to make myself feel better and often that’s exercise or food. Sometimes I’ll eat a chocolate bar, other times ill go for a run.

The fifth and last tip would be to surround yourself with positive people and friends that have your back. Friends that support you and understand what you’re going through without judgment because they will likely be around for a very long time (granted that you treat them nicely and have their back too- remember friendship is a two-way street too).

I hope these tips help, let me know if they work for you and any other advice you have on building good self-esteem.

Shae.

It really is very beneficial and as well , packed with a great time for me personally and my office peers to search your website particularly three times weekly to read through the newest tips you have. Not to mention, we are at all times satisfied with all the sensational tactics you serve. Certain 2 ideas in this post are completely the most effective I have had.
