Care Packs For Kids

Hello to all of our parents here ar SMP! I don't know about you, but I wish I had resources that helped me cope as a kid, don't you? Click to read on about some great tools to help your kids cope with life!

Lately, I’ve been seeing a great number of resources on kids mental health that I’ve been dying to share with you. Personally, I don’t have kids but I’m really passionate about their mental health and overall wellbeing. I really like how there is growing support for kids mental health and new resources on how to help them cope with the stressors and changes life brings. I don’t know about you, but I wish I had resources that helped me cope as a kid, don’t you?

The first resource I want to share is by the company ‘Smiling Minds’, their vision is simple; to help every mind thrive and their mission is to provide accessible life-long tools to support healthy minds. Isn’t that amazing?
They focus on youth mental health as well as mindfulness for all. Recently during COVID-19, they have come up with care packages for kids which teach them mindfulness (making sense of their emotions and become present), how to cope with anxieties and worry as well as build the power of positive thinking. They offer free guides to parents and professional working with kids!! To find these guides click here.

The next resource that I also think is amazing is a company called ‘I AM ME’ and they offer positive affirmation cards for kids! they come in a pack of “forty-four cards focused around constructive thoughts that children can repeat as often as they wish to encourage positive thinking”. I really like these because they build kids up to have a good sense of self and it’s a fun way to build resilience for kids, which I think they need now more than ever. I would love to hear from any parents that are part of our community that are interested in using tools like this!
