- By attending sessions or using our services, you acknowledge and agree to these Terms of Service. These terms may be updated periodically, and continued use of our services constitutes acceptance of any revisions.
2. Services Offered
- Sharp Minds Psychology provides psychological and counselling services, including individual therapy, couples therapy, support groups, assessments, and NDIS services. All services are delivered in accordance with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) standards and best practices.
3. Appointment Policy
- Booking and Rescheduling: Appointments can be scheduled online or by contacting our team directly. We ask that clients provide at least 24 hours’ notice for cancellations or rescheduling.
- Late Cancellations and No-Shows:
- No-show sessions will incur a full cancellation fee.
- 24-48 hours incur a 50% cancellation fee.
- 72 hours+ incur no cancellation fee.
4. Fees and Payment
- Sharp Minds Psychology operates on a flat fee payment rate.
- Those who need financial options are to contact the clinic via email at admin@sharpmindspsychology.com
- Late Payments: Any outstanding payments must be resolved promptly to avoid disruption to services. A late fee may apply if payments are not made within the specified timeframe.
- Medicare and NDIS Rebates: Clients may be eligible for Medicare or NDIS rebates based on eligibility requirements. Please contact us for further details on applying rebates to services via email.
5. Confidentiality and Privacy
- Sharp Minds Psychology is committed to protecting client confidentiality. All sessions and communications are strictly confidential, except in cases where:
- There is a legal obligation to report (e.g., risk of harm to self or others, court orders).
- Consent has been provided to share information with other healthcare providers or family members.

6. Client Responsibilities
- Clients are expected to:
- Attend scheduled appointments on time.
- Engage actively and respectfully in the therapeutic process.
- Provide accurate and complete information as requested by their therapist to ensure the best possible support.
- Inform Sharp Minds Psychology of any changes to personal information, including contact details and relevant health information.
7. Limitations of Service
- Sharp Minds Psychology strives to provide the highest level of care, but we do not guarantee specific outcomes. Progress depends on various factors, including individual engagement, external support, and circumstances beyond our control.
- Emergency Situations: Sharp Minds Psychology does not provide crisis or emergency services. If you are in immediate need, please contact emergency services at 000 or reach out to a crisis support service like Lifeline at 13 11 14.
8. Telehealth Services
- Sharp Minds Psychology offers telehealth sessions to clients who may prefer virtual appointments. Telehealth sessions are conducted with the same level of care and confidentiality as in-person sessions.
- Clients are responsible for ensuring they have access to a secure, private location and stable internet connection for telehealth appointments.
9. Termination of Services
- Either party may choose to discontinue services at any time. Sharp Minds Psychology reserves the right to discontinue services if a client fails to adhere to these terms, does not engage constructively in sessions, or demonstrates behaviour that is disruptive or harmful.
10. Intellectual Property
- All content provided by Sharp Minds Psychology, including written materials, resources, and digital content, is the intellectual property of Sharp Minds Psychology and may not be reproduced, distributed, or used without permission.
11. Complaints and Feedback
- Sharp Minds Psychology welcomes client feedback as a means to improve our services. Complaints can be addressed by contacting our office directly. We are committed to resolving concerns respectfully and promptly. If you are not satisfied with the outcome, you may refer the complaint to AHPRA or the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC).
12. Disclaimer
- Sharp Minds Psychology provides psychological services within the scope of our qualifications and training. Our services are not a substitute for medical treatment or emergency care. Sharp Minds Psychology assumes no liability for any injury, loss, or damage resulting from the use of our services.
13. Governing Law
- These Terms of Service are governed by the laws of Australia. Any disputes arising from these terms or the use of Sharp Minds Psychology’s services shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of Australian courts.
